Why digital printing?

New digital presses are designed for fewer copies - as few as one copy. There is little or no variable press cost because there is little or no make-ready involved. Therefore, you can print what you need, when you need it. Shorter runs have higher unit costs, but this is often offset be decreased storage cost and more importantly, by the greater flexibility of the printed material. With digital printing systems, document obsolescence can be eliminated.
